Editorial methodology

How a sighting becomes a story.

Animal Invasion covers extraordinary wildlife swarms, migrations, mass gatherings, and animal takeovers. The goal is to explain what people are seeing, where it is happening, and why it matters without turning every viral clip into a claim.

01 · Intake

We start with the event, not the hype.

Submissions, public posts, video links, local reports, and direct sightings can point us toward a story. A submission is a lead, not automatic publication.

02 · Source standard

We look for independent support.

Before publishing factual claims, we look for reliable primary or secondary support such as wildlife agencies, researchers, local authorities, established reporting, original video context, or multiple consistent observations. When facts remain uncertain, the story should say so.

03 · Mechanism

Explain why the animals are there.

A story should do more than repeat what a clip shows. Where possible, it explains season, migration, breeding, food, weather, habitat, human activity, or another mechanism behind the event.

04 · Photo and video rights

Permission matters.

We do not treat a public upload as automatic permission to republish it. Submitted media and third-party media are handled under the rights terms provided with the submission or a separate permission, license, embed right, or other lawful basis.

05 · What we will not publish

Not every spectacle belongs here.

We avoid fabricated sightings, unsupported claims presented as fact, content that encourages harassment or harm to wildlife, precise sensitive-location details when disclosure could create a meaningful conservation risk, and submissions where the rights or provenance cannot be handled responsibly.

06 · Commercial separation

Editorial and paid content stay distinct.

Advertising, affiliate links, and partner blocks are labeled. Payment does not buy an organic editorial ranking or turn a user-submitted sighting into an ad surface.
